Programme Description
The Bluebell Estate programme officially launched in July 2004 with
the establishment of the local steering group, which includes
representatives from the Bluebell Residents Association, KMBC Community
& Youth Service, various elected councillors, members of the police
force and representatives from Groundwork.
In 2004 the programme secured NRF funding from the local authority to
enable initial development, specifically a piece of youth development
work based on environmental activities which will enable the young
people currently engaged to be in the loop of the programme whilst
working towards building their capacity.
In August 2005 further to funding from the NRF and Knowsley Housing
Trust, Brian Cullen was appointed Youth Works Manager for Bluebell.
- “Soccer Fix” twelve week Sport and Healthy Lifestyles Project.
- Partnership agreement developed with YIP to deliver a 24-week
self-development project aimed at 11-17 years.
- Culture Project ‘Open your mind to the Culture of Liverpool’.
Ten-week project aimed at 20 young people (15-17 years).
- Detached youth work sessions and an Easter Programme completed.
- Collaboration with Youth Works St Gabriels to carry out a
celebration event at the Millennium Green on the 24th June 2006.
- Liasing with Knowsley Play Service workers to develop a ‘street
play’ programme for summer holidays
- ‘Clean up’ event planned for the Bluebell estate for the week
beginning 26th June, in partnership with Knowsley Council.
