Programme Description
Further to funding secured from the St Gabriels NOF allocation,
Lorraine Watterson (Loll) was appointed as Youth Works Manager for the
St Gabriel’s programme in June 2005.
- DVD toolkit for young people made by young people.
- Music Work Shop Project January/June 2006.
- Six young males participating in Nationally Accredited Course in
Computer Design Techniques.
- Partnership agreement developed with YIP to deliver a 24-week
self-development programme for young people aged 11/17 years.
- A job club in partnership with Connexions to operate from Youth
Centre.
- There is to be a “Celebratory Event” for the St Gabriel’s Ward
June 24th 1.00pm/4.00pm, this event is to celebrate trying to change
perception of the young people within this ward in light of recent
events.
- A core group of six males from the St Johns Estate have come
together to form a band, currently known as “ The Johns”. This group
of young men are to perform a ‘gig’ on the evening of June 24th
7.30pm/9.30pm, and are to be interviewed live on Radio Merseyside
23rd June 2006.
