Programme Description
The initial work to set up a Youth Works programme on the Alumwell
estate in Walsall started in 2005. Following a successful feasibility
study in March 2006 the consultation with stakeholders and review of the
relevant strategies show that there is a great amount of support for
this Youth Works programme and the willingness to sustain its ethos over
a long time period.
The type of support offered for the programme can be divided into
four categories :
- Partnership working - evidence of work that is already taking
place.
- Identification of young people for the project to target - which
organisations are best placed to refer young people for the greatest
impact.
- Funding - potential sources of funding.
- ‘In kind’ support - that local partners are able to provide,
which could then in turn be used to draw down additional funding.
